What should I get? Totally drawing a blank!

I have no idea what you like, but I bought some pyjamas in the John Lewis sale today. 🙂 I still have some credit left on my gift card, so I'm planning to get some expensive make up too.

DH may spend his voucher on an air fryer.

If you can't think of anything, bear in mind you can probably use your voucher at Waitrose too.

LikeIDontExist · 29/12/2023 22:54

I’m struggling too.
I wish I’d be given a voucher for a shop that is near us. We don’t even have a Waitrose I could use it in.
I think I bought DC Apple earphones last time & I’m sure I still have several pounds left on the last gift card.

I will probably end up with a moisturiser or a Neom candle or something, it just seems such a waste though.

Sorethroatandearache · 29/12/2023 22:56

I bought a good quality wooden bread board with my £50 voucher - a gift which will hopefully last a good few years.

frenchfancy81 · 29/12/2023 22:59

Clothes, perfume, make-up, kitchen stuff, new bedding, nice homeward stuff you wouldn't usually buy eg candles/placemats/vase whatever...so much choice?!

Snowflakecookie1989 · 29/12/2023 22:59

Charlotte Tilbury make up.

uclpp · 29/12/2023 23:00

Waitrose food?

Clothing/underwear for adult/child?

Makeup/beauty items?

Clawdy · 29/12/2023 23:02

Perfume - some lovely ones and a great selection.

PaminaMozart · 29/12/2023 23:03

Bedding or towels?
Light bulbs?
Shoes?

JL may not be what it used to be but I still manage to spend quite a bit.

Isthisjustnormal · 29/12/2023 23:08

Silk pillow case? My favourite luxury!

InstrumentsofTorture · 30/12/2023 13:07

I bought a lamp

OldTinHat · 30/12/2023 13:19

Home fragrance every time!

ListToHunt · 30/12/2023 13:31

I had a £50 gift card for JL and merrily spent it on Joseph Joseph kitchen stuff, but appreciate this is probably the dullest suggestion here Blush

myusernamewastakenbyme · 30/12/2023 13:35

I had a £200 giftcard for John Lewis last year....I ended up spending it in Waitrose as the prices in John Lewis were extortionate.

scrivette · 30/12/2023 14:03

Is there anything you wanted (bag/purse/coat) that you want and the £50 could go towards it?

I had a voucher this year and used it to put towards a purse that I could not justify the price of but the voucher brought it down to a price I was willing to pay.

Otherwise some make up, shoes or vase.

ZiggyZowie · 30/12/2023 14:10

A leather handbag

Ladybirdbookworm · 30/12/2023 14:24

I bought two linen cushions with a red ticking stripe down the middle with feather pads for £17.50 each.
A pair of green gingham cushions for £10.00 each and a two ex display light up Christmas baubles on a piece of white rope for £7.00
it all came out of my tips for working Christmas Day and I’m looking at them now with real pleasure.

PaminaMozart · 30/12/2023 14:35

John Lewis have a great line of Le Creuset clones.
Same quality and looks but at a fraction of the price.
I just bought an excellent griddle pan for..........

£32 !!!
(In the sale - compared to a 3-figure sum for the LC equivalent...)

CeriB82 · 30/12/2023 17:08

Posh candle. But a nice smelling one. Many expensive ones absolutely reek.

Comefromaway · 30/12/2023 17:10

Before Christmas I bought a Joseph Joseph draining board. Several items of clothing & I currently want a Stackers jewellery box.

Spookymormonhelldream · 30/12/2023 22:05

Ooh thanks for all these suggestions! I think I'll treat myself to some posh make up which will hopefully make me look younger.
Annoyingly now I want loads of other stuff too 😁
