Is anyone else all peopled out?

We had MIL to stay for a few nights from Christmas Eve. Hosted 10 people for Christmas Day. Visited/gone out with various family and friends every day since then. We have a 200-mile round trip tomorrow to visit a much-loved elderly relative and I just don't want to. I'm all peopled out. We will go of course but I just want to stay at home with DH and the DC and not do anything at all. Not host, not visit, not organise.

Anyone else feel this way after a busy Christmas?

How do you say no to visitors/family dos/get togethers without being rude? I do love my family and friends but I cant cope with them through dec and Jan (we got endless birthdays in jan so it continues right through from mid dec)

"Oh that sounds lovely but I need a weekend to sort out the house. It's an absolute tip after Christmas. I'll see you the week after at X's birthday."

This is exactly what I plan to say when the next round of invitees come knocking. And I'm going to be pretty selective about what I accept!
