Tax credit to UC migration

Hi,

I was sent a a letter about tax credits migrating over to Universal credit. However I have missed the 3 month deadline due to mental health crisis and being unwell to deal with this and now my tax credits have stopped..

Does anyone know what happens with this as I was hoping to get it sorted sooner rather then later?

Can they be lenient with this and rectify the issue due to personal circumstances?

They can give you extra time to make the claim if there is good reason ( I imagine a mh crisis is a good enough reason ). However I imagine you would need to have requested this before the deadline. I would give them a call. I guess the worst that could happen is that you could lose any transitional protection but would still be able to make a new claim for UC.

I would definitely try to apply as soon as possible .
i applied online . It was relatively straightforward .

Op when was the deadline? How far past it are you ?

A month past the deadline. The past 3 months have been a blur
