Finding out what someone did during WW2

I’ve recently found out that a female relative worked for the air ministry during the Second World War. She never spoke about what her role was due to signing the secrets act, but I am wondering if it is now possible to find out what they did. How would I go about finding that information? TIA.

If she was in the services then military records will provide units etc, but if she was a civilian working in the ministry then I don’t know

A very wide scope is the National archives in Kew. Their catalogues can be searched online
