What do you really love doing? We love mountains, so if we had 6k to spend for 5 days, we’d go to a really posh spa hotel in the Austrian/Swiss Alps which does really good food, views to die for and a spa with relax rooms, ice rooms, saunas, massage and champagne for 2 etc. Like Alpbacherhof in Alpbach. if you like the sea, one of the lovely resorts on one of the Greek islands-do some of them have swim up pools etc? If cities, pick a beautiful city you’ve never been to and stay in a top hotel, book gallery visits, concerts or theatre and save some of your budget for a really lovely souvenir-think beautiful handbag from Rome etc. it really depends on what you love doing.

I'd go to Italy! We spent an incredibly romantic week in Lucca a couple of years ago. Its such a beautiful city & v easy to hop on a train to get to Florence / Pisa etc.

We thought we'd do that but actually we spent the week in Lucca just loving having time together ❤️ it was fabulous & we'd do it again in a heartbeat!

We also love Budapest

I’m not really sure is the answer! Don’t get much time to ourselves, let alone been away by ourselves in a long time.

i like the idea of somewhere beautiful by the sea. So yes maybe a Greek resort sounds good?

thanks for the reply by the way!

Off to google Lucca as embarrassingly don’t know much about at all! Just loving time together sounds perfect to me.

Oman (not sure if you can do the rype of break you're after for £6k, haven't priced it up recently).

What time of year?

MrsRachelDanvers · 29/12/2023 08:13

Yes, Tuscany was going to be another suggestion-Italy is always good for romance. Lucca is very nice, same with Siena and all of those small hilltop towns and villages. Or maybe Liguria-the Cinque Terre is extremely beautiful and easily reachable with flights to Genoa. Or base yourself in Nice and travel to Grasse and smell the flowers, take the train to Cannes and have lunch along La Croisette. You have a decent budget so you should be able to really enjoy yourself-stick to short flight times to make the most of it!

Should have said, hoping to go mid June.

thanks for all the ideas, having a coffee and a google!

Santorini?

Amalfi Coast/Capri/Ischia would be my choice, it's beautiful.

Another vote for Italy. You could stay in Sorrento and hop on the ferry and visit Capri and Ischia. You could catch the train to Pompeii and Herculaneum or just sit with a lemoncello gazing across the bay looking at Versuvius. Bliss.
