Looking for an old toy dog

When I was younger (about 30 years ago) I was bought a big floppy stuffed dog, I named him floppy as he was kind of flat and I even sometimes used him as a pillow.
I remember him as looking like the old dog from next door in Lady and the Tramp so I think a bloodhound.
I was given him early before Christmas one year because I was ill and slept with him for years.

I'd really love to find him or something similar for my little girl.
He was big- pillow sized.

Any ideas?

Oo interesting, the first one is closest but too small I think?
Theyre good options though, I think I'd like something as close to the one I had as possible so I guess that would be used.
Mine was also all brown like the lady and the tramp dog

Your description makes me think of pound puppies from the 80s/90s! They were big, floppy and flat!

Do you have a photo of it? I would guess you are remembering it slightly wrongly in your head and that it seemed bigger because you were much smaller when a child. My parents boxed up a lot of my old toys once we outgrew them and when they got them down from the attic for my DN’s I was surprised that some of the toys weren’t at all how I’d remembered them and some things like our dolls house which I remembered as being huge were quite small in comparison to my memory!

I dont have a photo but I suspect you may be right!
I asked my mum and she wasn't sure about the make either
I think the pound puppies look pretty close

Cubbysnowdog · 28/12/2023 19:41

Was it Scamp? The one where you could put him on a walker thing?

ElmtreeMama · 28/12/2023 19:49

My sister and mum remember him being the size of an adult pillow
He was reddish brown
I'm down a Google rabbit hole now!

Hmm his body was flatter so he was comfy to lie on but I don't think an actual pillow. He was all reddish brown, no different markings or colours on his face.
My mum seems to think he was just a random from a local shop so I may never find him exactly.
I do like the look of some of these for DD though, thank you
