How long do you leave your presents under the tree?

So obviously the kids presents were opened on Monday morning and the ones they haven’t used remain under the tree. I will ask them to take them up to their rooms tomorrow but I was wondering how long do other people’s presents stay under the tree after having been opened.

Present needs to be found new homes by New Years Eve.

One of mine is staying under the tree until DH finds the receipt to return it!

2nd Jan.

there was a thread asking how do you keep the Christmas feeling and I think leaving the stacks of presents around is one of the key ways.

@NutcrackerSweety what did he get you?!

OP, ours get put away on Christmas Day. I get quite upset by mess, and the tree and cards are starting to send me in a tizz!

Over next few days, we will find homes for gifts. I am a tidiness freak all year, except for a few days over Christmas where I love a messy living room with pieces of wrapping paper, individual stacks of gifts, on the floor, side tables with boxes of sweets, etc.

Ours normally start to migrate to their permanent homes Xmas night and into Boxing Day.

They are all away by 27th.

Boxing Day

They never get put back under the tree here. Not even when I was a child. We played with them, and they just get tidied away when finished. Same as we do now.

After Boxing Day. But often bit by bit. At the moment I still see a stack of books and DD's new laptop in the living room.

DappledThings · 28/12/2023 18:19

No time. If not yet played with they are at the other end of the room.
