Gmail spam?

What happens when you report some emails as spam? Are they blocked from using the platform?

This isn't about typical spam email. I am getting abusive emails from a disgruntled person. The volume of them and the contents of the emails is abusive and twisted. The law is slow to help me so I reported hundreds of emails from the same account as spam?

Will Gmail block the person from using the platform and ban the account or will the email address only go into my spam folder in future?

It will just go into your spam/junk folder. It's up to you to block the disgruntled person. Gmail is just, in effect, a postman - a carrier service for email addresses.

I'm not going to give examples of the abuse I am getting but it's twisted.

I reported emails as spam. I googled it and apparantly Gmail gets a copy of emails when reported as spam to analyse them.

Why would they not take any further action?

Why would they allow someone to use their platform to send abusive emails? It's not just one or two emails. There is an obsession to send filth.

For a company to ignore something like this, maybe it would be ok for 06 - 08 years but harassment is becoming more stringent everywhere nowdays. I would have presumed Gmail would have taken abusive emails seriously?

^ How do I permanently block a sender in Gmail?

Block an email address

When you block a sender, their messages will go to your Spam folder. On your computer, go to Gmail. Open the message. Click Block [sender].^

Well if you think this disgruntled person is sending this filth to many people you can always report the issue (I think it's in the question mark icon).

If it's a person known to you and targeting you individually, contact the Police and report it as harassment.

Sadly grim spam and filth is a sign of the times.

You seem more annoyed at Google, who probably get millions of spam reports a day, than the police who are meant to protect you from harassment and abuse.

Have you followed it up with them? Taken it higher up the chain?
