I could not find a thread on this...

Interested on how you plan to improve your life in 2024

Mine are:

Live in a more fearless way. I am so tired of being anxious/over thinking/people pleasing. I actually started doing this in December and it is freeing. I am zoning out all that I allow to stress me out. That old saying most of the things you worry about never happen is very true.

Stopping needless spending. I used to be good at this but have slipped over the last few months. I am fed up of putting my card details into websites, or tapping in store. I feel a bit queasy about the excess.

Read more. I want to read a book a week. I have managed 40 this year, but when I should be reading I am scrolling.

Find a simple weights routine. There is so much online choice around exercise, I am bamboozled. Just want a quick, low weight routine for a menopausal woman. I am not a fan of exercise but love walking, but need a routine because weights are recommended for older women.

Social media. Ties in with reading. Mindless scrolling results in hours wasted, the wish to buy the latest lipstick/jacket/bag etc, money wasted. It has its uses but needs to be put in its place.

Just enjoy life more. I don't have to be model thin, wear fashionable clothes. I am more at peace with who I am and I want to reduce negativity, in all areas of life. Life is short. I went to a funeral of a young woman yesterday. Life really can change in an instance.

I also want to tackle excess spending and social media use.
Re the weights - I find kettle bells great at home. Mine is 6kg as I wanted to feel it (I’ve been seeing a personal trainer weekly for over a year now and I may get a heavier one) and I use this routine. It’s 15 mins, she has a 5 min warmup on her channel that I do first, done and dusted. It does some cardio too and makes me sweat.
