Day to myself!

What would you do if you had a day to yourself?
I normally end up shopping without coming home with much so ideally would like to avoid this.
I currently have a coffee sat on the sofa. I am thinking of doing some baking later, possibly gingerbread men. But apart from that, I am stuck!

What about going to your local cinema and seeing a film?
Lunch and an art gallery?

I’d go to the gym and take the dog for a different walk.

Mirrormeback · 28/12/2023 08:31

Curl up on the Sofa and read my book

A walk sounds good. God, I wish I had a dog to join me. I imagine it to be the perfect type of company.

What are you reading currently?

That sounds great! I'd lie on the sofa for a bit watching something I never can with the kids around. I would head to a cafe for tea and cake. Then go for a walk for an hour, I've seriously lacked any fresh air or exercise over the last week. I'd take headphones with me to listen to a podcast or music.

Swimming
yoga
nice lunch or coffee and cake
read book next to the twinkly lights

In reality I would panic about what to do and then do some boring jobs, doom
scroll lots and be unhappy with what I did with my day.

Your reality is mine too 😂 It feels I should be getting multiple other things done, and I'm in danger of achieving nothing of substance if I don't choose soon!

This is me...currently sat on my settee with a cup of coffee reading your post about sitting on the settee with a cup of coffee GrinGrin
Have the day to myself once I drop DD to her activity
Was going to have nails done for the first time but talked myself out of it as think it'll be about £30 and will last 3 weeks.
So heading to shop to get some storage boxes and mooch about and then come home and do a little blitz in peace and maybe squeeze some TV in before I collect her
Feels like you need to do everything but end up feeling like you've done nothing

Put my feet up and rest rest rest!

grayhairdontcare · 28/12/2023 09:15

Coffee and a nice breakfast.
Then a walk with a audiobook
Home for a lovely soak in the bath.
Then a bit of reading, watch a film , do a bit of my jigsaw.

LlynTegid · 28/12/2023 09:24

A walk without a dog as I do most days is still a lovely thing. The reactions of the dogs, especially those thinking you might have treats for them, is always interesting (my walk includes areas where dogs are reasonably off lead).

AnneElliott · 28/12/2023 09:32

I'd go for a swim and then a lunch by myself.
