Beard Shaving Advice Please!

Hello lovely people,
I have come on here for the first time in ages to ask for some help. DS is 16 and all round lovely, barring the socks he inexplicably leaves EVERYWHERE. He now has a significant quantity of facial hair and, although when I first offered to buy him shaving stuff he declined, he has now asked if I could please get him the ‘stuff’.

I am a single parent, my father is senile and sadly wouldn’t be able to advise or instruct and I don’t have any other men in my family or close friends to ask.

Can anyone recommend an electric shaver or shaving set which will do him well? I know that razors and such give a closer shave but DS is a little on the clumsy side and also is dealing with some acne which I think would have bloodbath style results, so I think a decent electric shaver should do him. He’d like one he can use to tidy his sideburns as well as shave his face.

I know there is a community of dad’s on here and I’m really hoping you will be able to provide manly advice on this.

thank you all in advance.

Not a dad! But I bought my DS a Braun shaver with a built in bear trimmer and it is excellent.

Yep, braun is a decent make. DH does a proper old fashioned wet shave with badger brush and cake soap, but for a while he was on blood thinners and didn't want to take the risk so got a mid priced braun. He'll now use that for a few days at a time and proper shave a couple if times a week. DSs both have beards but DH has shown them how to proper shave. They have various beard trimmer things rather than shavers.

YouTube will gave videos to show him how to do it properly. You could maybe book him in for a proper shave at a Turkish barber to get rid of all the raggy beard and fluff so he's starting with a clean slate?

Thank you both. Sorry for the slow response, I fell asleep after posting 🤦‍♀️
