Feeling really lonely as new years eve approaches

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Have been single for years and enjoy my own company. Am still young and wanting to go out and socialise.

Happily take myself out to the cinema, theatre, pub lunch, on holiday... but NOT comfortable to do so on a night out.

Thank you in advance for replying.

Sorry you feel this way! Are you trying to meet new people? Could you look to join a club in the new year? Or take up a hobby / interest where you could socialise. Some of the best friends I’ve made over the years are from work. Is there any scope for you to meet or socialise in work?x

Have you asked friends what they're up to? Or can you visit a relative and listen to the midnight chimes?

@FatherJoseFernandez Yeah, I have hobbies and interests where I've had the opportunity to meet likeminded people. The only thing is is that none of those people live locally or are friends who would like to go out new year's eve.
Though @Tonight1 I do have a couple of friends who might and am still to ask. I just feel a bit like a tag-a-long or third wheel as I'm unattached. Sadly, I have no relatives to spend new years with. I don't have many.

If I'm better then I'll visit a friend, he'll go to the pub and I'm quite happy staying in and watching Big Ben and the fireworks!

In the new year check out if there are any work social groups and things going on locally. You'll soon meet people.

If you don't feel comfortable going for a night out on your own, how about going to a pub from 4-7pm on NYE? At least you will get some contentment from not having stayed in all night.

@KievLoverTwo That's not a bad idea!

:)

And have something you wouldn't usually buy to cook or drink at home, so when you return, it feels like it's a treat coming home instead of something to be sad about.
