MP3 player for podcasts

I want to reduce the screen time on my phone, however I always have it on me as I am constantly listening to podcasts/audible/Spotify- therefore it's always tempting to look at my phone.
Can any recommend a decent mp3 player or iPod that I could use just for those apps?

I think MP3s just shuffle existing songs on an MP3, I've never heard of an MP3 that plays audiobooks / podcasts on only as you'll need a screen on the devise to search for podcasts and internet etc

Can't you just buy an iPod or a second hand one, and just put podcasts o it? Don't download any apps or social media on it so you can't still and scroll

Get an older cheap iPhone and only put podcast and audiobook apps on there?
