What’s your plans with the kids these holidays?

Looking for inspiration. We were meant to go to the park today but rain spoilt that idea. My children hate crowded spaces so local shopping centre and soft plays are out of the question with everyone spending their Christmas money. Local library shut during the holidays and they find museums ‘booringgg!’.

What’s everyone else’s plans?

We did a few bits before Christmas - light display, Christmassy walks, baking, cinema. This week we're taking it a bit steadier. Lots of films, playing with new toys, lie ins.

We'll be seeing the panto at the weekend and ds has a football match at the weekend also. On New Year's Eve we might go bowling or something during the day then it'll be a cosy night in with board games and a takeaway.

Honestly don't pressure yourself to do 'stuff' just have a few activities planned and fill the rest of the rest of the time with walks and games. It's such a busy time of year it'll be nice for them to wind down.

Are there any places near you with loads of bouncy castles (we have an indoor bouncy castle place) or a big indoor trampoline park? They are generally big enough that they're not as crowded and stressful as soft play.

Other ideas: swimming, cinema, play dates.

We went on a bike ride yesterday and in the garden for a bit as it was a nice day. Relaxed morning then swimming this afternoon. Tomorrow family are coming over. I try to get them outside otherwise they can go a bit stir crazy.
