Anyone doing a word instead of New Year's resolution?

Read on here that some people last year chose a word of the year to live by rather than a resolution and wondered if anyone was doing that this year? I'd like to but struggling to settle on a word!!

Patience
I have less than zero!

I’m having two.
Gossip - need to stop engaging in it.
Sugar - need to drastically reduce it.
If I manage those two my life will improve.

That is a really good one. I'm not the most patient either!

Great idea. I don't really have anyone to gossip with tbh but could do with breaking my sugar addiction

I’ve done this for a few years now. In 2024 it will be Prosper. Sounds stupid but I really need to get a grip on my finances this year and stop being so rubbish with money.

Having the determination to see things through and persevere

Ataraxia

a state of tranquility, free from worry or disturbance. Not something anyone except a particularly dedicated monk could achieve, but definitely something to work towards.

Someone close to me pointed out a few months ago when i said “so-and-so that is causing me anxiety is not my fault” that if not mine, whose? I’m the only one who has control over my life. I’m trying to act on that and take responsibility for my own happiness.
