Purdy & Figg

ChocolateTVandbaby · 27/12/2023 09:37

Has anyone tried Purdy & Figg?

I am tempted by it every time I see it advertised as I like the idea mainly if it smelling gorgeous but what is it like really and should I just stick to what I use already? Is it a bit like zoflora?

I can see the environmental aspect too.

But not sure whether it's just good marketing as I think other businesses do similar so looking for feedback if anyone has tried it

I had the hand sanitiser during Covid. I liked the smell- didn’t seem artificial, as many of these things do.

TheFairyCaravan · 27/12/2023 09:55

I’ve not tried Purdy and Fig, however I use Neat cleaning products and hand washes. I like that they are refillable enamel containers and the only waste I have is tiny glass bottles. They smell amazing too, and don’t give me migraines, which is a bonus.

Neat | Sustainable Hand & Home Care

My MIL bought me a set for Xmas (🙄). I already use astonish concentrate and refill their spray bottles, and I'm not sure this is any better, although a lot more expensive of course

surlycurly · 27/12/2023 17:56

My mum got me some. It smells nice but isn't the best for actually cleaning. And the smell doesn't last long. For me the best thing is the cloth! It's great.

Witchbitch20 · 27/12/2023 18:07

I use it. I find I don’t need to receive an order as often as the subscription so I skip and order what I need.

They do smell gorgeous but I do use a different cleaner for a more heavy duty kitchen clean, and the wipe down with P&F for a nice smell.

cardibach · 27/12/2023 18:12

Have it. Smells gorgeous and in contrast to a PP I find it cleans really well. Seems to repel dust too, judging by my fireplace etc. smell seems to last ages too - days in the case if my bedroom where the door is shut all day. I’m impressed with it.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 27/12/2023 18:15

I use it, the multi surface and the bathroom cleaner, the bathroom cleaner is fab on soap scum etc. I really rate it all to be honest, it is a bit more on the expensive side but I like the seasonal scents, the summer one for repelling flies for example is brilliant and the smells are much nicer than supermarket ones and they linger

biscuitcat · 27/12/2023 18:16

I really like it - the smell is lovely so I find myself wiping the surfaces more than previously, so my kitchen is cleaner which is a bonus! Agree that I don't need refills as often as the subscription arrives, but they're easy to skip.

ChocolateTVandbaby · 27/12/2023 20:51

I was wanting it more for the smell tbh and have plenty of "flash" and the like to use up where a good clean is needed

I'm tempted to give it a go!

Recently started using it. Love the smell and use to clean everything including windows so less bottles.

ChocolateTVandbaby · 27/12/2023 20:56

OK it wasn't going to take much but you've talked me into it

I'm ordering the £30 kit

Isn't it just expensive essential oils though? You can buy them so much cheaper and make your own cleaning products. I have bought some nice bottles, some oils and started to make my own. The smell is lovely and I like to play around with scents. The brand revive also do big bottles of oils made up for cleaning in amazing scents

Copperoliverbear · 27/12/2023 22:50

Method is better

Teeen · 21/01/2024 08:25

I have used the product for about 3 months . It’s a lovely surface cleaner but I feel you need something more to deep clean. It’s lovely to wipe over all your surfaces. I struggled on my mirrors and glass tbh. The cloth is fantastic but a little expensive just to get the cloth. The smell is beautiful but it does ware off. It’s very easy to subscribe and cancel so don’t be worried about that. Hope this helps a little …Tina

ChocolateTVandbaby · 21/01/2024 09:34

thanks @Teeen

I ordered it and I like the bathrooms set more than the kitchen one but I think that's because of the scent. I do like the oooh de loo toilet scent. I don't mind using something stronger as I use bleach when needed and other products I've still got but I think it leaves a nice shine to the bath and sink.

I am not sure if I'd buy the kitchen set again (depends on the other fragrances - I only tried one) but do like the bathroom scent coupled with the loo drops.

i agree the scent doesn't last that long

I wouldn’t bother I have just received a trial box after seeing all the good reviews. Was very disappointed. There is no smell. I tried it all down stairs as I thought maybe if I did a big area. Still no smell. I thought it was me so sprayed some on the worktop and asked my son’s girlfriend to smell her reply “. I can’t smell anything”
just looked at the returns policy and they’ve got you!!! Return at your own cost and will only refund what you haven’t used. So for initial £15.00 then return of £6-7 it’s not worth returning. How can you know if you don’t try it??? I have cancelled the subscription and won’t be purchasing again.

ChocolateTVandbaby · 31/05/2024 20:48

@Disappointedmum01 I think it does have a smell but not massively. The bathroom ones are better than the kitchen ones. I could go without buying it again but I really like the ooh de loo toilet scent.

i don't think I can justify the £40 quid or whatever it is to buy both sets again.

My mum gave me some and I really love it and was going to get some but is it £30 a month?
