It wasn’t my husband who bought the shitty gifts; it was me. I didn’t expect the antique and beautiful earrings and necklace, the very very expensive perfume I wouldn’t dream of buying, the hand painted scarf and thoughtful books. His over shirt was too small, his socks worthy but no match and the mini break is for me too. Will do better next time… I did make good roasties.

Lmao!! Join the club, I got my hubby a sweater that didn't fit, a spice rack with all his worst spices and a shirt that made him look like he needed to pee always,!!!

I ate the chocolatey present I bought my friend then swerved his phone calls so I didn't have to meet him this afternoon for a gift swap

It’s worrying there are so few of us but I am delighted by the chocolate free friend and the husband in the shirt that makes him took like he needs a pee. Brilliant!

This is always me, my partner gets excellent thoughtful gifts and though I do try it just isn't easy to reciprocate that because he only ever wants utilitarian things or useful things so when we unwrap them I'm acutely aware that I'm unwrapping things like an antique oil painting I spotted months ago that he went back a 50 mile round trip for, or something I mentioned I never got as a child that I still do want on some level, books that I'd never have picked but end up always liking- while he's unwrapping work shirts, a wireless tyre inflator, beard trimmer and some novelty christmas socks etc.

He seems happy though so perhaps I worry over nothing. Our ideal gift types are just different - he likes to receive something he needs to buy himself thus saving him the expense. I like things that I would never justify myself that feel special. I asked him what his favourite gift was and it was the bloody tyre inflator.

Tyre inflator😂😂
