Not so DCat has taken half a turkey joint off the worktop, where it was cooling, has dragged it across the kitchen floor and eaten chunks off both ends.

We are due to have a buffet for family tomorrow and DH reckons it will be all right if we microwave it well. I'm not convinced. His other suggestion was that we cut the ends off and save the middle. I don't think that will work either, not now it's been on the floor.

I'm going to have to come up with a Plan B, aren't I?

Wow that cat has had a nice Christmas 😳🤣

You can’t serve that. Absolutely vile.

And never microwave Turkey…!

I think “Shall I Steve this” should be the new MN term for “Shall I be really disgusting and make people sick”

Is your husband the chef at Faulty Towers? 😂😂

Lol no I wouldn't serve it, to Steven or anyone else. I'd buy a takeaway instead!

Thank you everyone for confirming DH's brilliant 'save the day' idea was not only ill advised but potentially downright dangerous. With the deepest of regret I have thrown away £25 worth of top quality boneless turkey joint and dug another out of the freezer to cook tomorrow.

DCat has not asked for his dinner tonight. Funny that.

Glad you decided it wasn't salvageable OP. I'm really pretty chill about food but even I would draw the line somewhere before that!

Maybe you could freeze for cat food? What a shame :(

Itslegitimatesalvage · 25/12/2023 22:28

Um… why did you throw it out? Honestly, it’s been ruined by the cat but why waste it! Why didn’t you portion it up into cat sized portions, freeze them and use them to treat the cat to turkey every so often!
