Something woo happened to me today

Christmas Greetings all. Well, I didn't think I'd be writing this today of all days, but here we go...

So, I popped to the pub before Christmas lunch today only for one but I thought it would be a nice start to the day. This is not a pub I frequent often and I have never sat in this part of the pub - just to get the preliminaries out of the way and to set the scene. As I was leaving I spotted something small and shiny on the floor - roughly 2 feet away and which I hadn't noticed as I arrived as the space had been occupied by a group of four who had now left. Something about the object seemed familiar so I leant over to pick it up...to my amazement It was only my trinket which I lost around 10 years ago! Not to be too identifying I don't want to say exactly what the object was, but it was something that was extremely personal to me and about the size of a bracelet.

But how can this be ?! I'd lost this item around ten years ago when I'd tore the house upside down looking for it and since then have moved house to a completely new area 50 miles away! This has really unnerved me and tbh if I'm to suspend all rational belief and believe this is a " sign " of sorts, is it a good omen or a warning that shit is in the way?

I wasn't in a particularly good place emotionally when I lost this item but it gave me some comfort at the time (I carried it with me everywhere until it went missing). It's just utterly bizarre and being Christmas day it's made me question the wooness of it all even more. It literally defies logic for it to turn up, practically land at my feet in a pub I rarely use in a area miles away from where I lived before. If you have any similar stories or interpretations of what this could signify, help!

I had something a bit similar happen. When my son was born my dad bought him something that had great sentimental value to us. We couldn’t find it for ages, and had new carpets put in a few months after we lost it which meant we had to empty every room and it wasn’t in any of the stuff we pulled out of any of the rooms. Anyway fast forward 2 years later, and we were coming back from my dad’s funeral and the thing was just there on the floor in the middle of our living room. It was and is a complete mystery but so comforting..

I was thinking the same thing @Richard1985

Things we don't understand. Hmm. There's hunger, war and unfathomable cruelty in this world and some hidden force 'we don't understand' has seen it a priority to return to you a trinket on the floor outside the pub. I'm opting for the logical explanation

My daughter and I are so loving reading of these special woo reunions!

She recently lost her dear grandmas locket and is hoping it will come back to her one day 🙏🤞

@Igotagoodcard Or someone else had the same thing engraved with the same message- there is actually very little that is truly unique in the world of ‘stuff’

Tbh it would be even more woo for someone to have exactly the same piece of jewellery either way exactly the same name or even message engraved on it and then for them to drop it in a random place where the OP happened to be

Not really. Its like baby names- everyone thinks they are being unique but actually they are picking up on the same cultural trends as everyone else.

Most jewelry or trinkets are like that- people follow fashions, like engravings of the same song lyrics or poems, have the same names, there are only 365 days people can get married on (and certain ones are more common), the same with birthdays.

Just think how many people spend months thinking about, choosing and designing tattoos, only for it to be extremely similar to 4 other sleeves in the pub that night!

Im not saying it’s likely that it’s an identical one, but it’s more likely than something paranormal or magical.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 25/12/2023 20:20

If it’s the exact same item. Well either someone stole it or picked it up by mistake or it was in a coat or something you never or rarely wear, maybe in a zipped pocket or got caught inside it somehow and the person has now dropped this item where you were or what you wore it came out of suddenly.

I’m not sure re woo but that can happen I suppose but it’s a bit woo if this item materialises somewhere where you know there can be a rational explanation if a bit strange and coincidental.

Jifmicroliquid · 25/12/2023 20:21

Could it have slipped down the lining of a coat you had on and for some reason it’s fallen out after all these years? Maybe there’s a hole in your coat or jacket.

It could well be this, if it’s a certain type of bangle with certain words popular at the time then yes in theory there could be more than one of these items around.

ancientnames · 25/12/2023 20:37

I’ve had this, though not with something of personal meaning but with a key. I did assume they had just got caught in a lining and had finally fallen out.

Boomboom22 · 25/12/2023 20:41

Please check your coat today's lining to see if there is a small hole op!

Thank you for all your posts, I've caught up now after dozing on the sofa to forrest Gump!. So I've thought about the clothing angle - I did have an old bag with me today that's over 10 years old (predates missing item I think) - BUT I have used this bag on and off for years and it's travelled with me every time I've gone abroad. It's also gone into a storage unit for months when I was inbetween moving house and has been in and out of suitcases numerous times. I just can't get my head around the missing item being inside there when I have used it so frequently over the years and if it was, then surely it would have fell out and got lost at some point in these ten years? It doesn't make sense . The bag doesn't have a zip either, just a fold over top. Plus the fact that I would have searched it thoroughly in my hunt for the missing item all those years ago.

I think the thing that has made me a little more spooked, is that the item is so very personal to me - it meant something special to me when going through a really horrible unsettled period and served as a comfort. So not just your usual piece of jewellery or a piece with no sentimental attachment. It's literally impossible for There to be double. And for it be returned on Christmas day!

For those missing items like the special locket - I really hope you get it back. After my experience today, there's every chance you will. Strange things can and do happen ! I'd love to know the meaning if it's something spiritual related

Some things we just cannot account for and that is ok, no point people posting far fetched explanations.

MissingMoominMamma · 09/01/2024 19:33

I hope my engagement ring turns up like this!

Cinateel · 11/01/2024 12:25

Years ago, The London Underground used to have small metal chocolate-vending machines on the walls. They only contained about 6 different chocolate bars. I heard this on the radio in the 70s. A woman put her money in but the machine jammed and she couldn't get her chocolate. She gave up, got on the train, and when she got off at her station, banged the chocolate machine on that platform in frustration. To her surprise, it gave her the chocolate bar she'd chosen and paid for in the other station!
