Coffee consumed
Dishwasher unloaded
Santa’s biscuit back in barrel and thank you note left
stockings placed outside bedrooms

and now…. quick 35 minute route!

anyone else?!

Single parent of a 12 and 14 year old… so pretty confident that by time i’m back, showered and dressed…both will still be fast asleep!

I am going to wait until it gets light and then go for a 5k ( ish) around our local loch.
Slower than I used to be but not too bad for 64.

FlorencenotRatchet · 25/12/2023 08:20

No Xmas day Parkrun within walking distance.
I was planning to go for a run anyway but iits tipping it down here so unless that improves I will be staying inside.

RunningGearOn · 25/12/2023 08:22

Not me today in spite of my username! I usually do, but I'm utterly exhausted after a busy few weeks and was out til 1am. Although maybe a quick run would blow my cobwebs away...actually maybe this thread will be the shove I need to get out 😂

devildeepbluesea · 25/12/2023 08:23

I wish I was! Just getting back from a mud yomp with the dog, have 30mins to get ready before family arrives.

Enjoy your runs!

PurpleStarRising · 25/12/2023 08:24

I'm off to volunteer at my local parkrun. Looking forward to cheering everyone on and then home for bacon rolls and presents.

cheezncrackers · 25/12/2023 08:24

No, I ran yesterday and actually I've now come down with DS2's cough and cold so running wouldn't be a great idea today Sad.

Instead, I'm going to immerse myself in Christmas this morning - presents this morning, then I've got to cook lunch and then packing this afternoon, as we're off on holiday tomorrow.

TheChippendenSpook · 25/12/2023 08:52

I did some hula hooping!

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 25/12/2023 08:55

Not Christmas without parkrun!

Cornishmumofone · 25/12/2023 10:11

Celebrating my 450th parkrun and a PB for DD today 🎄🏃🏽‍♀️🎅

QueSyrahSyrah · 25/12/2023 10:17

450!! Wow, well done @Cornishmumofone!! 👏🏻

Parkrun done, strange to be home by this time as we usually have breakfast with friend after. Very festive feel and lots of familiar faces at our local run.

17 weeks pregnant and Parkrun is getting harder though! I'm going to try for next Saturday to round the year out and then volunteer for Park Walker / Tail Walker as often as they'll have me from January.

HappyCamperTent · 25/12/2023 10:19

No. I went biking yesterday and will go running in a couple days.

I’m tired this morning from sorting pressies last night. Then my dd was up at 5:30.

Will go for a nice walk later on. May even get the paddle board out!

samthebordercollie · 25/12/2023 10:21

We celebrated Christmas last night (live in France) so I got in a 14km run with the dogs while everyone else was still fast asleep. Dogs were more on form than me.

christmaspawpaws · 25/12/2023 10:21

Going to do a home weights class in a bit

Congrats that's quite an achievement

Username5678910 · 25/12/2023 10:31

Was going to go for a bike ride this morning but will use today as my rest day as it's damp and gloomy, bike ride tomorrow as gym is shut, then gym sessions the rest of the week.

madeinmanc · 25/12/2023 10:35

Ever since isolating/shielding (albeit relatively briefly) during the pandemic I get a bit panic attacky if I stay in all day 😞 so I'm heading out now 😀

tallsmallmum · 25/12/2023 10:39

been to Parkrun with DD then back to our presents

Phillipa12 · 25/12/2023 10:42

Went out with my friend cani crossing at 7am and managed 5 miles. Will now not feel guilty about what I consume later!

CopperLion · 25/12/2023 10:46

I did my first Christmas Day parkrun. Was fab! Happy Christmas to all fellow runners x

MahShinyShoes · 25/12/2023 10:50

Yep, will head out in the next hour just for a mile or two.

My run is one of my favourite parts of Christmas day after watching the kids open their gifts.
It clears my head before family arrive & challenge my patience.

But do I wear my new running leggings or save them to lounge in later?!

FlorencenotRatchet · 25/12/2023 11:43

Well the rain eased so I managed a 5k.
Was very quiet only saw a couple of runners.
Just relaxing now waiting for family to arrive.

canyon2000 · 25/12/2023 13:43

5k run, then 10k walk with the dog! Back home and just tucked in to smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast for lunch - it was delicious😋!

Whatwouldscullydo · 25/12/2023 14:23

I'm hoping too but I might need a kick up the arse.hate daylight runs so I'm hoping it stops raining before before 9.30/10.

Haven't done anything since the gym Friday so feeling a bit pissed off with myself. I should have gone last night but id been at work all day and was a bit tired..

christmaspawpaws · 25/12/2023 14:24

Ended up doing a 20 min spin class

EarringsandLipstick · 25/12/2023 14:34

I'm going for a run with DD now!

I wanted to go earlier but there was present opening going on, then food prep. DC have had the starter, and I'm nipping out while main cooking. Slightly nervous of food being cremated but I shouldn't be too long for that to happen.

I know it's a strange time of the day to go but I really need to get out and no earlier time really worked.
