Big black eye no trauma

Merry Christmas everyone first of all 🎄☃️

Wednesday I woke up with a black eye that is getting bigger every day. I've had no trauma at all, the eye isn't swollen or painful. Cant understand where it has appeared from or if it's a cause for concern.
Any ideas please?
FWIW I havent been sleeping well

Are you on any medication?

TomeTome · 25/12/2023 03:11

Sounds like a clotting disorder. I’d see the GP urgently.

Do you share a bed with anyone? Elbow in the eye, type of a thing?

While in hospital on a stroke ward I was next to a lady who was in for the same thing. They thought maybe she had a stroke but turns out not. Best to get checked asap to rule the serious things out

Any bruising anywhere else? You should speak to 111 in any case.

ThereIsNoTomorrow · 25/12/2023 09:40

No medication, I do share with my son who's 7 but surely for how big the bruised is I would have felt some kind of pain lol.
I will see the GP after Christmas and hopefully it's not anything serious

At least check for any other bruising or rash.

Kellioo · 25/12/2023 10:19

Don't ignore this, it really needs to be checked out. Take pics and gp on Wed.

PolizeiobermeisterWache · 25/12/2023 10:36

I would 111 right away.
Any other bruises elsewhere? Have you always bruised easily?

This is good advice. Take a pic every morning.

But if it worsens, or becomes uncomfortable, then call 111 for advice.

Sorry no other brusing or rashing.
Yeah I have taken a photo today, will take one tomorrow and then see the GP Wednesday

Our DC had similar - turned out to be an allergic reaction but our GP made us go to A&E for tests as could be a symptom of liver issues.
