Home Alone 2…

NorthernLiner · 24/12/2023 19:44

… is 31 years old!

I was just telling my DCs that I first watched it in the cinema with an ex when I was home from university, and then did the maths 😱

My goodness, how have three decades just passed me by?!
And just how many times have I re watched this movie since 😆

How old were you in December 1992?

I was 7

PatFussy · 24/12/2023 19:54

9

rainpleasestop · 24/12/2023 19:55

I was 9 and watched it earlier wondering when it was made

Floopani · 24/12/2023 19:55

I was 12. But I have watched all the home alone movies every year with my DC since they were old enough, so it holds very happy memories. I try not to think of how long ago gremlins came out...

spanieleyes · 24/12/2023 19:56

Well, my son was six months old........☺️

Xanadu58 · 24/12/2023 19:56

I was 21

TheChosenTwo · 24/12/2023 19:57

Dh was just watching this alone in the kitchen while cooking, roaring with laughter and probably Not doing much cooking 😂
I was 7 in 1991, I love the first and second one, very nostalgic!

TenderChicken · 24/12/2023 19:57

I was 8!

I remember seeing Nightmare Before Christmas at the cinema for I think my 11th birthday.

EmpressSoleil · 24/12/2023 19:58

I actually really dislike the home alone movies. Slapstick comedy isn't my thing so I never actually watched them with my DC. But to answer your question I was 23. So probably not the target age anyway!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 24/12/2023 20:03
  1. Didnt realise they were that old!
TidyDancer · 24/12/2023 20:26

I was 9. I didn't see it in the cinema but I have a very distinct memory of my mum buying us the video of it in John Menzies in town. A neighbour of my nana has a copy of the first one and they brought it round at some point and we loved it. I still adore those films so much!

xyz111 · 24/12/2023 20:41

It shocked me when I read that Macaulay Culkin is now older than Catherine O'Hara was when she filmed it.

cantsleepinbed · 24/12/2023 21:27

-4 !!

DancingintheSpoonlight · 24/12/2023 21:35

10 months old 🤣

ColinRobinsonsFart · 24/12/2023 21:40

I was 24!
Dd just reminded me we got her the voice recorder for Christmas! She was 5 when it came out....

Picklemeyellow · 24/12/2023 21:44

I was 19
Wish it was still 1992.

NorthernLiner · 24/12/2023 21:54

Oh my goodness, quite a few of you were the same age as my DCs are now 😁

@TheChosenTwo I hope you managed to have some kind of meal 😂

@ColinRobinsonsFart Wow your DD has a very good memory.
I’ve just googled and I really hope she still has it, it’s quite a collectible it seems, who knew! Jealous - I want one now 🤣

I'd just turned 18.

I do t remember it coming out but I do remember throwing up on cider on my 18th, so they must have happened close to each other 😆

BarbaraBuncle · 24/12/2023 22:15

We just watched Home Alone 2 this evening, as our family Christmas Eve film. It was just as funny as the first one. We love the silly slapstick comedy of them

I was 27 in 1992. It was the Christmas my DM died, so wasn't in the mood for watching films then. I've seen the original one several times, but this was the first time I've seen HA2.

IBegYourBiggestPardon · 24/12/2023 22:31

Calmdown14 · 24/12/2023 22:36

The mum was only 36 in the first one!

OvertiredOverthinker · 24/12/2023 22:46

I was 3!

LOVE Home Alone 2! Better than Home Alone (though that one is also a very good movie!). Never fails to make me cry with laughter 😂

BiblicallyAccurateAngel · 24/12/2023 22:50

I was 17. But I don't think watched Home Alone 2 until I had kids of my own.

Allmarbleslost · 24/12/2023 22:53

12

DrCoconut · 24/12/2023 22:55

@NorthernLiner at my FS's Christmas concert the school choir sang somewhere in my memory. I thought oh bless them, none of them were born when home alone came out. Then I looked at the teachers.....Holy shit Batman, I'm properly middle aged.
