.....buying his own Christmas present from his partner?

OP posts:
EwwSprouts · 24/12/2023 16:36

I've bought his Christmas present but DH will be buying his own early January birthday present. He wants a chainsaw!

Tonight1 · 24/12/2023 16:43

@EwwSprouts I'd be a bit stumped as well, not up on chainsaws. Fortunate he's getting his own!

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 24/12/2023 17:04

Yes, DH usually gets his 'big present' himself - things like a new Apple Watch. Not always at Xmas either, can be before at the point he wants it or after when there's a sale. So I just get him a few little things.

He buys me things I want, usually fearsome garden tools - this year a hori hori.

We usually both get something for (young adult) DD.

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 24/12/2023 17:05

Why do you ask, OP?

Borka · 24/12/2023 17:07

DH often does when he wants obscure records

festivetinseling · 24/12/2023 17:20

Yes, DH has done that on a few occasions when he's wanted some obscure guitar pedal attachment thingybob. I wouldn't have a clue.

elizzza · 24/12/2023 17:22

My dad does it. Hands my mum a bag of stuff (usually books, CDs, maybe a jumper and some socks) which she wraps up and gives back to him on Christmas morning. Seems very odd to me but it’s worked for them for nearly 40 years so who am I to judge?

Smidge001 · 24/12/2023 17:24

Yes my DH does it quite often. He's always got ideas for himself Grin and happily sorts it out to make sure it's what he wants. He's not so good at coming up with ideas for me mind you..
