That it really. Title says it all.
im currently eating toast and a coffee as i may be hangry.
run my own beauty and hair business been absolutely non stop all month. Freebies hair and beauty for fam.
chriamas day is me dp and 2 teenage children plus my mum. I’ve had zero help with anything in the house Christmas shopping etc. I’ve done most of it myself and have a final push to get all done. Not had time to do my own colour or nails. I feel a mess. Mum doesn’t work and she’s still asking me to get her a couple of things when I’m out doing my own bits. I feel like running away and spending the day alone in the car with sarnies from M&S.

Just say it's out of stock now re the stuff your mum is asking for. I hate people adding to the list while you're there as you've inevitably walked past that section then.

Eat your toast. Have a quiet moment.
Enjoy your Christmas as a break from all your hard work. I get to a point with Christmas - usually on Christmas eve but it's been brewing for a couple of days where I think 'ah, that'll do' and stop stressing about the details.
You've made other women feel a bit better about themselves too which is lovely. I got my nails done a few days ago and it's given me a smile every time I have noticed them.
Get your last jobs done. Then go home and relax.
Happy Christmas ⛄

None of it really matters in truth. Have a happy and peaceful Christmas

I know what you mean. I'm left to do everything while all DH does is buy my presents. He hasn't got a clue what the kids/family have got.
He drives me crazy when he's singing or whistling Christmas songs. I've told him that I'd probably enjoy Christmas too if I didn't have to bloody think of and do everything!
But now I've got to the point where I couldn't give a shit. I'm grateful that I'll spend tomorrow with my children and brother, so I'm not stressing any more!
Enjoy your toast and coffee and merry Christmas 🎄

Sounds like you've overdone it. I find a long walk in nature is amazing for grounding.

Silence, birdsong, fresh air, bleak bare trees, tiny creatures scampering, some unexpected flowers surviving winter, amazing views and peace. Being at one. You don't need hot chocolate with cream, or shopping but the solace nature brings.

Why do you do it?

rainbowstardrops · 24/12/2023 12:07

Why do you do it?

Because if I didn't @charliecoopershair the kids wouldn't get anything! A couple of years ago, I told him I wasn't doing it and it was down to him. Just before Christmas I asked if he was sorted and he hadn't bought a single present! So I was left to frantically cobble a Christmas together. That's why I do it.

Thats why we all do it tbh
