Let's raise a glass

I start this thread every Christmas Eve.
its a place to take a moment to remember those we miss and for anyone having a tough day amongst the chaos it's a quiet place of just being and having a minute.
I'll raise a glass to my dad.
11 years.
I still wish I'd known you better.

I also started a thread to remember loved ones, but no ones replied 😅

So, I'll raise a glass of tequila to my beautiful son Tony, will be 3 years on Christmas day, there isn't the words to say how much he is missed.

And a cup of tea to my dad, who died in May this year 🍵, the best dad I could've wished for ❤️

Hobnobswantshernameback · 24/12/2023 08:52

Ah you are so welcome here
My dad loved his tea and two sugars so much 😂

My dear brother who passed away earlier this year, and friend Karen who also left us this year. Both gone far too soon. Raising a glass to them both 🥂

To my friend who passed away two years ago of stomach cancer, diagnosis to death 6 days, leaving behind 2 teenagers & her dh.

PyramidDreams · 24/12/2023 09:02

Both my lovely Mum and my equally lovely MIL who both made Christmas special for my young children. Far too long without you.

Tayegete · 24/12/2023 09:09

My mum 7 years ago, my Dad 5 years ago and my best friend 3 years ago who was taken far too young. 🥂

the80sweregreat · 24/12/2023 09:15

To those who didn't make it this year and those who are no longer here. Including a dear friend who was taken too soon, I know it's going to be hard for his family this year.
Thinking of you all and you'll never be forgotten

stepintochristmas1 · 24/12/2023 09:18

Newyearnamechangehere · 24/12/2023 09:29

Dad who died in my childhood, and my grandparents who stepped in and filled a large hole as best they could.

MagpiePi · 24/12/2023 09:30

Here’s a bottle top of rum to my mum, (because she brought me up properly and I don’t swig it straight out of the bottle) and a glass of the best Barolo to my Dad.

Funkyslippers · 24/12/2023 09:32

To my dad, 4 years ago today. He would have to choose Christmas Eve to go wouldn't he 😊. At least I'll always remember him at Christmas

Hobnobswantshernameback · 24/12/2023 09:35

I'll raise a glass to my beautiful mum, she adored Christmas and gave me 40 amazing ones.

Miss her everyday but always so much more around this time of year. It's our 3rd Christmas without her and it never gets easier.

We'll raise a toast to her over dinner tomorrow.

ApolloandDaphne · 24/12/2023 11:02

I will raise a glass to my eldest daughter who died when she was 5. She would have been 33 now.

Also to my lovely, kind, funny dad who died in 2019. I miss him so much.
