Happy Christmas Eve! What's Everyone up to today?

Morning all!

Interested to see how Everyone spends their Christmas Eve 🎄

I'm taking the DCs (x3) and DDogs to a National Trust site this Morning to burn off some excited energy! Making a flask of Hot Chocolate and Mince Pies for after.

Then have to visit a few Friends to drop off the last of our Cards and small gifts!

In the afternoon we're decorating our gingerbread house and watching the Polar Express (for the 100th time 😁)

Undecided for dinner just yet, Xmas Eve Meal isn't really a big thing in our House and the Children are already asking for MCDonalds!

Hope to have the Stockings filled, presents under the Tree and a glass of Bubbles in hand by 9 o'clock 🥂

Big family meal this evening. Then lighting our Christmas candles and sitting beside the tree with wine!

I slept until 9.30 this morning, did bits and bobs of cleaning and watched Two Doors Down. The dogs have been walked in a gale and torrential rain and I’m just about to get into a bubble bath to thaw out. DH will be home at 6, we’ll open the bubbles and it’s tv, a little buffet and another dog walk before Santa comes.

I snuck out on a fabricated errand this morning so that I could sit in a friend's kitchen drinking tea and eating posh chocolate biscuits. This afternoon I decorated the Christmas cake and made mince pies, just about to start prepping some jacket potatoes and salads for our tea and will then have a little drinkie and a nice sit down.

Teen DS has been to the gym, teen DD has been to feed a friend's cat and has been painting/drawing most of the day.

Think Christmas Eve is the best day...

Finished the laundry, house is mostly clean and tidy although dh needs to sort the spare room for his parents ... then making mince pies with my teenage dd while my teen ds makes bread sauce!

Nibbles for dinner on the sofa watching Love Actually tonight ... will then throw the kids out and wrap their presents.

We're hosting the whole week including new year so it's the calm before the storm!

@clement17 Is Love Actually on the TV or are you streaming it? I've got a few hours to myself so want to watch that with a Baileys and a few mince pies.

We're a blended family, so we only have the kids every other Christmas, so we are going to watch Wonka, have Burger King for tea, then we have matching PJs to the kids' horror and will have hot chocolate and chill the rest of the evening.

Christmas market, drinks and latin midnight mass

I've made soup, we made pizzas with both shop-bought and home-made dough, we've made and eaten some brioche and we've prepped the beef for dinner tomorrow. Still to wrap the few pressies we've bought and will have a port and lemon later.

It's my dd's birthday today so we've been celebrating that. I've also prepped the meat and veg, we have 12 round for dinner tomorrow. Once we've put the stuff out for the reindeer and father Christmas and the kids are in bed, I'll put out thr presents and open some fizz. My brother passed away last year so will raise a glass to him this evening.

Why do you need to supervise the cleaning?! Cleaning is not exactly hard

I agree it's not hard but if I want it done to my (Christmas) standard then a bit of advice and feedback is required now and again . 😂
