Peri- menopause

Hello ladies, I’m 45+ and my periods are delayed . My first day of my last cycle was 18th November and nothing since . I am not pregnant although initially this month I thought I was (I had all pre pregnancy symptoms) - turns out I wasn’t as per interval pelvic scan and I had ovulated - a massive one apparently (I’ve never had ovulation pain or symptoms like that ). I’ve never really missed a period and am not on any contraception. Anyways am wondering if this is the start of peri-menopause and would love insight into how it began for you? Has anyone had missed periods and it’s been all ok later around my age ?

It was just irregular periods (both in time and heaviness) for me, and a few hot flushes now and then. I only knew because I'd stopped taking the pill a few years earlier.

Following because I’m starting to think I might already be in perimenopause in my 30s.

Im definitely not pregnant (I’m a lesbian) but my periods are all over the place when I could previously set a clock by them, I’m getting random hot flushes, I absolutely CANNOT sleep, and my belly keeps swelling and then decreasing again at random. The last one might be something else but all these things have happened at the same time and I’m not happy if I’m already peri. I thought I had another decade to go.

My periods got closer together and heavier.
