Are these the cheese and biscuits for Christmas Day? You'll have to get more!!!!
We haven't really started on the Christmas food... Or rather we have... But not the food for Christmas Day. Mind you most of it was only delivered today 😁

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 23/12/2023 19:10

We started on the cheese for dinner yesterday.

22nd December is now Cheesemas.

HolllyHobby · 23/12/2023 19:11

@DilemmaDelilah ha! Err I have reserves, put it like that!

Yup I started tonight. Kids are at dad's so I'm on the cheese and crackers and bailey's.

Jennyjojo5 · 23/12/2023 19:18

🤣🤣 I’ve just scoffed an entire Manchega cheese and about 20 crackers 😬😬😬

HolllyHobby · 23/12/2023 19:19

@Jennyjojo5 ooh that sounds nice!

@HolllyHobby it was! I never ever buy cheese throughout the rest of the year, so ended up going mad tonight 😂 I’ll deal with the weight gain next week 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 23/12/2023 19:28

I think we have about 20 cheeses in the fridge. 🧀🧀🧀 We also started on the Wookey (Wooky?) Hole cheddar today. 😋

This appropriate cartoon came up on Facebook.

We have more cheese than anyone ever needs: stilton, cheddar, double Gloucester, cream cheese, brie, camembert, Wensleydale with cranberries, Edam, one with balsamic onion, and a whole load that can be baked. Pickles, grapes, every cracker under the sun and quince jelly.
We are trying to exercise restraint until Boxing Day then it's full steam ahead!

ConflictedCheetah · 23/12/2023 19:46

Ooh that's my tea too! Just back from Christmas lights so while the kids watch Paddington I'm having Stilton, crackers, onion chutney plus pate and Italian antipasto meat and mini cheddars. And also possibly some Pringles.

We go away on 27th and have no visitors over Christmas so if I don't start now we'll never get through it all (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it)

ActuallyChristmas · 23/12/2023 19:48

There’s always cheese and biscuits here as it’s Sunday light lunch most weeks. My problem is making sure we have enough for nibbly Christmas period lunches or when folk want it instead of puddings/desserts.

I’m hiding and extraordinarily ripe piece of Cornish blue, goats cheese and a Comte 😂 plus unusual biscuits

IndividualApplicant · 23/12/2023 19:49

We've just had a dinner of cheese and biscuits, devils on horseback and a big pack of breaded prawns that stupid Tesco sent in my Christmas shop that go out of date tomorrow. If we'd have cooked our gammon yet I'd have had a slice of that too.

Oldraver · 23/12/2023 19:53

I'm not feeling brilliant so have broken out the double cream brie

WonderingWanda · 23/12/2023 19:53

Same here, couldn't be bothered to think about what dinner was.

Cherrysoup · 23/12/2023 19:54

We often have cheese with lovely bread for dinner. A bit filling, but gorgeous. Throw in some olives and grapes, some gherkins and I’m in heaven.

AwkwardSquad · 23/12/2023 20:33

We started on the Christmas cheese and accompaniments tonight too. Bloody lovely 😊

Dutch1e · 23/12/2023 20:40

Not alone. Cracked open the cheese board for dinner tonight, along with some fancy meat slices and a few grapes that no-one will eat but their presence makes me feel virtuous
