Stilton - I do really associate cheese with Christmas.

At the opposite end, we seem to buy pigs in blankets for most of our roasts so they have lost the ‘Christmas only’ spark in our house.

I’ve never tried bread sauce , I really dislike cloves so I think that’s why plus it’s not really common in NE

I tend to go light on the cloves and heavy on the nutmeg and cream. Too many cloves make it taste like soap to me for some reason!

Whu · 23/12/2023 19:56

Dates
Shloer
sprouts

OvaHere · 23/12/2023 20:03

J20 drinks. Once bought some outside of Christmas when they were on offer and DS (16) was very put out. He insists they are a Christmas tradition that must be saved for then only.

Nasty stuff but for some reason they are an essential part of the day for DS. I think i probably didn't let him drink them when he was small other than at Christmas and this has become a big deal to him. 😂

mizu · 23/12/2023 20:10

J2O drinks here too!

OvaHere · 23/12/2023 20:12

Also Matchmakers. Had to replace two boxes in today's shopping because I've been dipping into them through December.

JamieKnows · 23/12/2023 20:16

It's the only year I haven't bought the radio times. I really want it!

Watchinghockey · 23/12/2023 15:28

Usually the Radio Times but found out today that its £5.50 this year and even the DC agreed that was too much so we're not getting it this year. Probably the first time we've not bought it.

Do you remember having to buy the TV and Radio times, as they'd only print their own schedules?
