Will post office give me my parcel?

I ordered something delivered by Parcelforce but I never received a card through the letter box.
I got the tracking number saying it’s been delivered to my local branch and obviously my ID shows my name and address matching that of the parcel…
im at work so wondering if it’s worth trying the post office when I get back or just driving straight from here to buy a replacement

does anyone know if post offices are helpful and will be able to give me my parcel without the card?

I don't know what yours would do, but this happened to me once and they point blank refused to hand it over without the card, even with multiple forms of identity. But you can only try.

You have a tracking number and ID so you should be fine. All the card has on it is the tracking number anyway so they can find it. ID then proves you are the recipient.

This is what I’m dreading

same thing happened with me, for years they gave me parcels without having the card but then they clamped down on it and totally refused

difference is you dont have a card, id maybe call them before going

I really hope this is the case. The sorting office I went to this morning (thinking it was there) would have done that, but post offices sometimes are so so backwards and unhelpful

Our local post offices would both be fine giving you the parcel so long as you had id.

Inyourwildestdreams · 23/12/2023 11:32

My local post office would give me it as they know me from being in multiple times a week doing our business banking. If it went to the local sorting office however, they would absolutely not 😅 I’d have an easier time getting my hands on the Crown Jewels than I do getting parcels that are delivered there 😳😅

I had a parcel delivered there last year just after we’d moved house. I took the card, my drivers license and a utility bill with my name & new address on just incase. And they wouldn’t give me the parcel because the address on my drivers licence hasn’t been updated yet 😅

Hello! This exact scenario happened to me! And I just took my id and they confirmed my address and handed it over

KajsaKavat · 23/12/2023 11:48

Finally got hold of the post office and the loveliest sounding young man said it will be fine with ID.

I've never had an issue at all, card or not I just take ID and proof of address.

I had this happen at my local post office, needed I.d and got me to sign something to say I had collected and wouldn’t put a claim in
