It's not said enough, but volunteers and staff who run our charities are part of what makes our communities great.
They give time, passion, expertise and endless energy.
They are mostly unsung. In the background. Not doing it for praise or reward.
They do the dirty jobs. The boring tasks. The tiring work. They're often judged, looked down on and taken for granted.
Sometimes they get it wrong. They make mistakes.
But mostly they give the hugest value to the cause they are supporting with no expectation of thanks.
They make a difference. That make society better for us all.
