Stopping/reducing the symptoms of periods

Would be grateful to know if anyone has had any success as I am just fed up. It's the same every month wondering why I've suddenly put on weight/puffed up all over, the pregnant belly for a few days, the acne, the headaches, the very sore and heavy breasts, the insomnia. I'm not even bothered about the bleeding, it's everything else. Does anybody have any solutions that could at least reduce all this? I take the mini pill ATM.

Mirena coil. Wish I’d had it sooner.

I second the Mirena. Worked for me.

What’s your diet like? Do you eat a lot of sugar/processed food? Do you drink alcohol?

Combined pill or something with less artificial progesterone in it.

Mirena coil, I basically don’t have periods now whereas it was a menstrual massacre before. Been on it 8 years.

Thank you for the answers. I am teetotal but probably do have more sugar etc. than I should..
I've tried to order the combined pill online but they want a blood pressure reading, so I'll have to get that sorted.

Although this is a long time ago, my skin was awful on the mini pill. I would get deep cystic acne every month. When I mentioned this to the nurse she said ‘The mini pill does give you manky skin’.
Ibruprophen does help reduce pain and the amount you bleed.
