Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my usual spot. The boiler and fridge are humming away but it's lovely and peaceful down here, for now.

I've just announced up that it's time to think about moving so we can get up and out fairly soon ish. We're off to Ikea on the train, and then getting the tram into Sheffield to have a wander of the Christmas market there. I haven't found my new glass bauble yet so hopefully will find something there.

I'm hoping to be home fairly early afternoon so we can all chill before tomorrow. We're Christmas ready apart from our market trip in the morning 😊

Hopefully we'll eat out so I don't need to think about cooking later on & can just relax with a glass of something nice and my crochet balloon dog, before a nice early night ready for the morning.

I've just had my food shop delivered and now have no stuffing or pudding as ordered ffs so have to face the horror of a supermarket.

Had a lovely long dog walk though, DH is playing golf until 4 and I've very rarely got the house to myself before the Christmas madness so am thoroughly enjoying the peace.

Pigs in blankets done, stuffing balls done...pastry for defrosting done. My dad's in town (he calls it "the city"...it makes me chuckle because it's still "town" to me even though we're now a city).

Can't decide what to do now...maybe crochet now and do my nails later on 🤔

Happy Christmas Eve Eve all!

Had a very lazy morning here, as we did our food shop last night around 11pm, Tesco was packed and only two tills open, took 40 minutes to get to the front of the queue. DC were super excited to be out so late though and they slept in this morning.

Have spent the morning drinking tea and playing with the dog. DC have been gaming and eating chocolate. About to make cheese on toast for lunch. Need to drop some presents over to my parents this afternoon and also clean round downstairs. It's our first Christmas Day at home with just us, so we're keeping it relaxed.
