How long to defrost a whole chicken for?

Hi everyone,

I have a whole chicken in the freezer which I cook on Christmas Day. When should I be removing it from the freezer to defrost in the fridge? It’s an XL chicken.

I would say tonight to.make sure ots done in time as take 24hours in the fridge will be ready by Xmas morning

Remember it can sit defrosted in the fridge for a few days but if it isn't properly defrosted it's a health risk

So sooner rather than later works well

When we have chicken on Sunday, I put it straight in freezer when buy it and I always take out Friday evening. This is a small chicken.
Nothing worse than a not defosted chicken.
