Relief for head colds

I have a nasty head cold and I know I can't make it go away, and it's a matter of resting, warmth, fluids, paracetamol, etc. What I don't understand is why taking 2 paracetamol + 2 ibuprofen won't even touch the sides. My head is killing me and I feel so awfully congested, I just need a bit of relief for a day or two until I can actually rest! Any wisdom anyone?

Nasal spray decongestants are usually quite helpful .

Nurofen Night and Day are brilliant for all round cold tablets

Sudafed works brilliantly on congestion and headache.

Sudafed.
Steam.

I've had it three weeks I rang doctors turns out it's a sinus infection and I've got antibiotics.

You may need a decongestant or it's possible you have a migraine, in which case the paracetamol and ibuprofen won't work. Try Lemsip or sudafed or Day and Night Nurse capsules and see if a decongestant helps.

I've lived of lemsip cold and flu this last 2 weeks. 1 in the morning and 1 at bedtime. Paracetamol and decongestant. Has definitely helped my head.

Take Otrivine spray, rather than Sudafed. Sudafed is sooooo addictive.

I am in head cold hell, too. Will be off to Boots today, as Sudafed isn't touching the sides and the pressure in my eyes is awful.

What dreadful timing. I have so much (expensive) food bought and won't be able to taste any of it 😭

Just been to the drs for this, I suffer with migraines and presumed my meds weren't working. The dr said sinus infection but won't give antibiotics, I've got Becanase spray to use twice a day plus ibuprofen regularly it's helping with the pressure. So much pain when I wake up though. Hopefully it'll do the trick. Hope you feel better soon.
