Broken tooth

I’ve always had good teeth but there is one tooth which has needed filled repeatedly and a root canal over years. Honestly not sure how much of the original tooth is left.

Anyway the minute dentists closed for a long break a chunk of the tooth broke off. It looks normal from the front but the back there is just a couple of mls of tooth then the metal filling. It’s all a bit sharp.

The filling looks intact. It doesn’t really hurt but I’m not sure I can leave this for weeks? My dentist doesn’t reopen till January. Any advice on temporary fillings or emergency dentists?

You can get temporary filling repair kits, either that or call 111 and they can put you through to the emergency dentist.

Updating in case anyone finds this. I called 111 and they made me an appointment with emergency dentist for 9:15. Popped in temporary filling on. Back out the door in 10 minutes and I didn’t have to wait. Cost £15.78 which feels reasonable.

I’ll need a crown from my regular dentist though but I thought it was going to be a complete Pita given all the horror stories about the NHS but it was actually very straightforward.
