At what point in the day do you make your bed?

We do it when we get in from the day usually.

Well, we kind of straighten and pull back the duvet and the put the window open (even if just a crack) during the day. so as to "air" the bedding.

But, apparently I'm odd and should put duvet on properly etc do as soon as I get up or near after?

I don't. I fold it back and leave it.
It's only made once a week when I change the bedding

DustyLee123 · 22/12/2023 16:04

Turn the duvet back neatly as soon as I get out.

Thursa · 22/12/2023 16:06

As soon as I get up

When I get in it 😂

As in I make it how I want it to sleep. Other than that it's thrown back. Life's too short to spend time in a day making a bed no one's going to see other than me. 🤷‍♀️

CharliesAngles · 22/12/2023 16:07

It’s done immediately by whoever gets out of bed last.

Christmassss · 22/12/2023 16:07

I fold it half back when I get up, open the window and then make it an hour later.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 22/12/2023 16:10

I don't. The cat jumps in it as soon as I get up and she gets very angry if disturbed. Very angry. It's not worth the pain.

MissBuffyAnneSummers · 22/12/2023 16:14

I often don't bother.

KnowThyself · 22/12/2023 16:15

Never the bed is turned down and pulled up when I get back in with or without company :)

muddyford · 22/12/2023 16:15

I pull the duvet right back when I get up then make it a couple of hours later. Window open , though only a crack with the wind.

Iliketulips · 22/12/2023 16:15

I fold it back to air as soon as we are both up and tidy pillow - cat usually gets nice and comfy then. Provided he isn't on bed later, duvet gets made between 3-6pm.

Laiste · 22/12/2023 16:16

If DH has had a lay in i like it turned back for a while to air 'cos he always gets sweaty during lay in's Confused

On an average day (we're up at 5 and not sweaty 😂) i'll make it as soon as i've had my shower. I never go downstairs and leave it.

I HATE going into a bedroom during the day to find the bed all unmade.

BettyBakesCakes · 22/12/2023 16:16

I also fold the duvet back to air, plump pillows etc when we get up. I might make it if I go up again later, if not when I go to bed.

Dandelionchaser · 22/12/2023 16:17

My duvet tends to be screwed up at the bottom after I get out of it, this naturally airs the mattress.

Kimchieggs · 22/12/2023 16:18

When I’m changing the duvet covers and sheets! On a normal day I don’t make it, it just stays in whatever state it was when I got out of it

UncomfortableSilence · 22/12/2023 16:18

Bedding pulled right back as soon as we get up. Window is always slightly open in the bedroom to air, once I've showered and got ready I then make the bed.

I hate coming home to an unmade bed or untidy bedroom.

deepsea9 · 22/12/2023 16:18

I turn the duvet back to air the bed when I get up. Then make the bed whenever I go up to close the bedroom window (also opened to air the room)

ANightmareBeforeChristmas · 22/12/2023 16:19

I don't make it as such - just vaguely straighten the duvet and pillows before I get into it at night.

shellyleppard · 22/12/2023 16:20

I leave mine for at least an hour.... gives it a chance to air out. Maybe I'm just old fashioned that way 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Same here. We like to air the bed, so making it isn't important!

Scampuss · 22/12/2023 16:24

Mine gets at least an hour to air, then I make it and open the window once I'm dressed.

Zevitevitchofcrimas · 22/12/2023 16:24

I don't

ActuallyChristmas · 22/12/2023 16:24

Husband always does it unless he’s gone off early to work or is away.

ReTrainTheBrain · 22/12/2023 16:25

Christmassss · 22/12/2023 16:07

I do the same. Fold it back, open windows, give everything a hood airing while I go and shower etc then come back and shut the windows, make the bed and get ready for the day.

Coastalcreeksider · 22/12/2023 16:25

Duvet folded back for about an hour or so, then I make it back again.

I hate an unmade bed, itooks untidy to me, I just can't leave it like that. 😄
