Moneys been a bit tight recently (not massively, but more than is normal for us) so about a month ago DH and I said maybe we would just buy for DCs and not each other this year for Xmas.
Forgot all about it, til fast forward to this morning and I’m wrapping presents. DH comes in and grabs a bag away and says it’s got my Xmas presents in!! I haven’t bought him a single thing!!

Please can I have some last minute great present ideas for a man who has everything 🙏🏻

Wait til he's out, sneak and find what he's got you, and go from there ...

I’d just tell him that he’s getting nothing, as per your agreement.

Honestly if money is a bit tight and you’d agreed not to get each other presents then don’t go overboard. Is there something he actually needs that could be a gift (clothing/hobby kit etc)? Or maybe something you would probably do anyway like a nice meal out together but as a gift? Or just do a token present, not expensive but nice like fancy cheese (DH would love this)

@Lastminutedotcomm also skint here so booked ahead kind of.

we have grown up kids so not sure if you could do this?

I’ve arranged a weekend break to a town near us with lots of brewery’s, real ale pubs etc that he will love. The airbnb lets you put down a small deposit and pay nearer date so it’s just cost me £25 for now. And I’ll worry about the rest later.

Other than that in previous years to split the cost of Christmas/anniversary/birthday presents:

bought cinema vouchers so we could have regular date nights other the year.

made vouchers myself for spa nights etc - and given him a body scrub, heated towels and taught myself some masssges via YouTube - he was asleep and a happy bear before I was finished - yet he didnt seem bothered for going to spas with me - this changed his mind.

subscriptions to magazines he liked. Hearse? Do a lot.

beer52 subscription. I have some free goldent tickets if anyone wants to trial a subscription- 1 free box of beer if you sign up - our mates just cancel before they take the money out for the second box.

vinyl subscription. Not done it yet but looking at the various uk ones.

1 night in…. But at home. Basically a themed night at home so all food/beer/house/clothes are as if you were on holiday there and dressing up on holiday. I tend to buy silly bits to throw around the dining table/lounge or you can go full effort. I flick between full on and tourist tat. I deliver this via a printed or drawn invite with any dress instruction etc so he has something to unwrap.
