What can DH cook Xmas Eve?

I work a long day on Sundays and in all fairness DH cooks most of the time, so he'll be cooking Xmas Eve. It's usually the same things like veggie chilli, fish risotto or something with veggies. I keep asking him what I should get in (half hoping it'll be something different!), but he hasn't responded (not unusual😂).

Anyway I'm up earlier than planned this morning, so am going out for our food shop soon. He's in bed, so not going to get an answer out of him.

Any ideas what we can have? Nothing with meat and something fairly easy for him.

Veg chilli sounds great, do lots of sides to make it into something, have tortilla wraps or nachos too. Nice drinks too.

Don't make it into a performance thing, if he makes good meals normally just go with that.

Macaroni cheese.

Or Cauliflower cheese!

Thank you. Forgot to say he doesn't really like cheese. I do have wraps in anyway, if nothing else they'd make a nice change from rice on a Sunday! Oh yes, and a nice drink definitely!

Just told him I'm off shopping soon, any ideas about Xmas Day tea - apparently he needs shaving gel😂.

I always make lasagne in advance for Christmas eve....it's in the freezer not going mouldy in the fridge. It's always nice to have something that doesn't involve too much faff on Christmas Eve. Serve with some salad and garlic bread and the leftovers can be another meal.

Xmas day tea I've got baked camenbert and I do a puff pastry wreath thing with cranberry sauce in it to dip in it. Then some cheese and crackers etc
