My kids/exDH used to do this - take the last of something out of a packet and leave empty packet so I didn't replenish.
Saw a great video where the mum takes every empty packet out and wraps them in Xmas wrap and saves to put under the tree, labelled for her kids.
Mine would have found this hilarious 🤣
Might have hit the message home a bit quicker too!
