My job is to make the cheese board this year.

I am going to two shops as they are right next to each other.

One is Aldi, the other is M & S.

I've not been in either for a few weeks. What cheeses would you recommend from these shops.

I have to get a lot it's for 16 people.

I already have Brie but that's it.

Aldi have a good selection of hard cheeses - aged Gouda, Manchego, Comte. They’re all delish!

Why does nobody ever suggest a Swiss cheese! Gruyere or Emmental, or for a similar sweet nutty taste Jarlsberg or Maasdam.

Nothing beats a crunchy cheddar

I've just discovered that DD who only ever ate melted cheese before, has fallen in love with smoked cheese & can demolish ten slices in a single sitting. Unfortunately, DS & I also love it, so my cheese budget is getting severely stretched.
Crackers & a really nice caramelised onion chutney are a must - and I always add frozen grapes. For some reason they're more satisfying than normal grapes on a cheeseboard.
