Unexpected free days...what would you do?

I unexpectedly have the next 2 days off work as I need to use up leave or I'll lose it.

All ready for Christmas. Even wrapping. Food shop to be collected Sunday. I'm knackered so don't fancy doing something exciting. Primary and secondary are kids both in school 9-3.

What shall I do? I don't want to just slob in front of the TV as that tends to make me feel sluggish and even more tired.

Swimming pool has no public sessions tomorrow.

What would you do if you were me?!?

Go and see a film.

In a dream world I would go get my nails done, lash lift, massage then a coffee out somewhere. In reality clean my house and reorganise kids rooms.

Depending where you are, a walk somewhere nice, meet someone for coffee or lunch, go to an exhibition, try on stuff on the shops ready to order online in the sales.

I would book a spa day or go to the cinema.

You could buy a nice magazine or a good book and sit in a cafe?

JanuaryBauble · 20/12/2023 21:47

I quite fancy a pedicure but the couple of beauty places are bound to be fully booked this close to Christmas.

I live in a small market town with a cinema but it's evening only. Nearest city is 1 hour away but bad traffic...

do you live close by? you could ring them ask ask to be added yo the cancellation list?

JanuaryBauble · 20/12/2023 22:16

Yes - very close - that's a good idea.

Yes I would reiterate how close you live as well.

Early trip to the supermarket to buy your favourite food, stop on way back to have a coffee with a friend, then munch in front of a box set for a few hours! Oh gosh bliss right before Xmas!
