Hi I am getting a mattress in the sales - I have a bad back and hip pain which sometimes keeps me awake . I need a medium firmness I think as I have to use a mattress topper .

Loads in the sales - which do people think are best - Simba or emma or any others ? I haven't bought one for years !

Thanks

I bought an emma but it was rock hard and I hated it, so I gave it away and I now have a simba. I find it quite comfortable and warm though you do need to remember to rotate it or it can go saggy.

If you have the cash, go for a Tempur - they are the best if you have back issues. I have a friend with bone cancer and she swears it's the only mattress she finds comfortable.

Go to a store like Dreams or Archers & ask for advice, try some out. Staff are usually very knowledgeable on what will work for you. Some things just aren't meant to be bought online.

I did a lot of research and did in the end buy online. Went for a Hypnia hybrid and it is very comfortable. No regrets after 10 months
