It's 5+ years since I've been to a city, and I've just realised I don't know how anything works any more.
We're going to Birmingham after Christmas, and I feel like it's another planet. I'm worried about all the things I don't know about. I didn't even use contactless payment last time I went.
How do you buy bus tickets?
I've never caught an Uber- do you need an app? Do other taxis exist?
What about eating out?Are there special apps I need for anything?
What else has changed that I don't know about?
I'm panicking a bit...

Most buses in cities take contactless now. You just tap on.

Uber you need to download the app and your bank account is linked, you just get charged through the app for the journey. Most cities will have taxi services but they're a rip off imo.

Eating out - you have to book at a lot of places now to guarantee a table, I'd imagine it will be busy in restaurants this time of year.

Basically most stuff is done through your phone/contactless nowadays!

Thanks. I'll set up the Uber app now. I don't
want to be faffing at the side of the street.
