Visiting friend - is this weird?

My very close friend (have known since we were in nappies and speak every day) has recently had a baby. When I asked about when was good to visit she said she’ll let me know when her DP is at work. She said the same with previous baby meaning I didn’t see the child for quite some time after birth.
It got me thinking, she will never invite me round when her DP is in. He is self
employed and has a relatively early start time and a really early finish, meaning he’s at home way more often than not.
Is it weird (or normal) to only see friends when partner is out?

Does it affect the friendship? Is she overall ok to you?is her partner shy or awkward, is he being avoidant?

I only invite friends round for coffee in the day when my husband is at work. It's just better for us to have a proper chat when he's not there. It's a bit different if you're just visiting to see the new baby though as you presumably wouldn't stay as long.
