Scary film/show for 12 year old?

My DS really wants to watch something he considers to be 'scary' so I'm trying to think of something that fits the bill but is age appropriate - any suggestions?

My eleven year old loves scary stuff and its so hard to find age appropriate ones.

He has liked:

Scary stories to tell in the dark
The new goosebumps series
Poltergeist
Signs

What about looking at some of the old Hitchcock ones. There's probably a lot on YouTube about how the special effects are done and how music is used to build suspense.

Is The Thing on tomorrow, which channel please? I bloody love Kurt Russell in that,.

Depends on what we all find scary then I suppose :) I loved Scream at age 12, I then watched the Ring age 14 and it scared the hell out of me.

My 12 year old is currently into creepy/scary stuff and is watching Murder Drones which is described as an ‘animated sci fi comedy horror’. Has also watched and enjoyed Wednesday.

@MariaVT65 I didn't say it wasn't scary, I've seen Scream a few times (I think my first time was 12 at a sleepover actually!), but not comfortable with "real violence" for a young teen so we don't watch slashers, we have watched the ring actually, he was just turned 13.
