DS15 school dance what to wear?!

Hes shyly said he thinks he’ll actually go, hurrah!
But..apparently kids turn up in sort of formal suits and jackets and stuff.
do I get white m and s shirt? And black trousers? He’ll look like he’s wearing school uniform!
this is so cringe, can’t believe I’m writing it, but have NO idea re cool clothes. I get him hoodies from super dry and that’s about it 😳

What does he want to wear? Is there a theme?

I've seen our Year 10s turn up in everything from suits and skinny ties, to chinos and blue blazers, to hugely oversized suits. I think there might be a strong cultural aspect to it as well depending on the school so he may have a very clear idea of what is expected.

If he's clear that people wear formal gear, then I'd get down to Zara or Mango if you've got it - if you get something that's more slim fit then no one will think he's in school uniform.

Oh you star, thank you! I’ve just bought half of hand m home and thank goodness he likes the black skinny jeans and a crunchy linen shirt. Phew!

Mine would go in slim fit navy (possibly pin stripe) trousers, matching waiscoat, white shirt, might wear a tie and has brown brogues.

Or dark blue jeans with pale blue shirt and waiscoat plus brogues.

He would prefer to go in joggers I'm sure.... but he doesn't get that option 😂

Well some spectacular suits were spotted in the end. Everyone looked super cool, in black suits or shiny grey with a red tie. I think it totally depends on the school tho. It’s fascinating. Our school is all about big handbags and down the road they all use rucksacks.
