I've turned 30. I want to look after my skin more as my previous routine have been to just get whatever I could afford. I want to fully invest in my skin and start a proper skincare routine to help my aging skin. Does anyone have recommendations? I live in the UK so it'll have to be something I can get here. Please help heal my face!

Clinique any good?
Estée Lauder?
Anything you've had that you love?

Stay out of the sun, use mineral sunscreen, cut out alcohol and cigarettes if applicable. These and genes are what cause your skin to age. You can take collagen supplements as well. How your skin renews itself is far more important than a brand of skincare. Chemical peels will give your skin a nice glow, and avoiding anything with fragrance and preservatives is important too.

Aldi and Lidl dupes. Every bit as good as the expensive options, including same igredients.

Cleaning and feeding your skin from the inside is more important than anything you put on the outside.

Buy some moisturiser that contains sunscreen. Any number over 15 would be fine for winter, 30 for summer. It doesn't have to be expensive, but there are some nice ones out there (La Roche Posay for example).

Use it every day.

Your skin will thank you when you hit 50.

SPF and tretinoin (dermatica or skin and me)

NewbieSM · 18/12/2023 22:25

Yes to spf and tretinoin, the 2 products that will give you the best results. Moisturise your whole body everyday, spf on hands, décolletage and neck as well as face. Maybe consider investing in an LED lamp or mask. I'm the same age as you and my skin has never looked better after doing the above for a few years

Sunscreen and Botox and not smoking or drinking much and always take off your make up

KnowThyself · 18/12/2023 23:59

Genetics and sunscreen are the main two.
I use Clinique, sunscreen factor 40 I think moisture surge it’s £55 a pot and I use two a year, also use simple moisturiser before bed.

Have a healthy a life as possible and don’t faff about with your face too much.

Not giving a fuck about it is the best way to be happy in your skin.

ChocAuVin · 19/12/2023 00:12

Any moisturiser your skin likes (I like Simple)
Any high SPF your skin likes (I like La Roche Posay Anthelios)
Retinol. Try this link for Skin & Me trial (disclaimer: it’s my referral but will be so worth your while for a cheapo tryout Wink)
Plenty of water and prioritise sleep (boring but true).

I have turned 28 and recently started my skincare aswell. My routine is

morning
vitamin c L’Oréal cleanser
vitamin c L’Oréal
L’Oréal sunscreen
glow drops by glow recipe

night
vitamin c L’Oréal cleanser
Clinique moisturiser
este Lauder eye cream

I feel it has really helped my skin tbh

I wash my heavy black make up off with baby shampoo and water. Use baby wipes to remove the rest. Then moisturise with child's farm baby moisturiser as I’m prone to eczema.
I’m very baby faced though. One week to another I can be very spotty and oily but last week I was pulled back upon entering a concert as the security staff didn't think I looked 18, I’m 34 Grin
I guess it helps to be very short and a bit skinny! Glad I dyed my hair before I went as my huge amount of greys would have given me away Grin

I agree with others about using sunscreen as a must but use it every day you go outside even during the winter. Also drink plenty of water.

You probably won't notice much difference now but when you get your 40's/50's you will be thankful.
