Does ANYthing help you feel better with a fever?

I've got that wicked bug that's going round. Can't find a spot on my bed that isn't already soaked in sweat and shivering madly. My head is splitting and I feel weak. My skin and eyes and ever my hair seems to hurt!

Waaaah. What makes you feel better with a fever? I'm dosed up with paracetamol but wondering if Asprin might help my head. Bloody virus! Don't go near anyone that's feeling grotty if you can avoid it, it's hit me and DP worse than COVID did.

Night nurse and changing bedding/pj's if can

Could you manage a tepid bath?

Windows slightly open to let the air in helps me.

A wash and clean bedding/ pjs also help.

Hope you feel better soon.

I get a temp every 2 weeks caused by meds which goes to around 40c so can definitely advise!

4 head stick or cool gel strips
Layers you can add/remove, use an empty duvet cover as a sheet
Clean pjs to put on after you've got sweaty
Loads of fluids
I take paracetamol and ibuprofen

This sounded weird but years ago a friend recommended 7up ( softdrink). Now when I have a fever I drink it and feel so much better, seems to bring temperature down. It has to be proper 7up not no sugar/ zero sugar etc.

I find ibuprofen is better than paracetamol for reducing a fever.

Ice pops (or whatever you call them where you're from), and I agree with lemonade (doesn't have to be 7Up in my experience). Absolutely no idea why lemonade works, but it does.

@eandz13 you're a genius. I remembered and ancient R Whites lemonade lolly in the freezer and it was the most delicious thing I've ever eaten.

The headache is what's killing me though, nothing seems to make it better.

Random input but if you are normally a caffeine drinker and drink none/less when ill, this can give you a headache

Day three, still 39 degrees....urgh this is MISERABLE. DP has bravely ventured to Coop. I see more lemonade lollies in my future.
