So fed up of being ill…

Last Christmas I had Covid. This Christmas I’ve got a chest infection, the cold symptoms keep coming back.

I’m on antibiotics and steroids, my 12 week old baby has also had two steroid doses and is on antibiotics and so is my 2 year old.

Just want to feel normal again. Every time I think I’m getting there, I end up sneezy and shivering again.

I can’t breathe properly but can’t take any decongestant as I’m breastfeeding.

Any ideas to help? Between us, we’re dosing up on paracetamol, saline sprays, steam. I’m just so fed up.

Take decongestant

She can’t. She’s breastfeeding 🙄

Yep so when I was ill pregnant and bf.. Doc, different both times said way up mum's discomfort and the actual threat to the baby. Often medicines will never say safe because they can't test them on pregnant mum or bf mum.
However they said many drugs in very small dozes realistically will have no effect at all.
So weighing that up to mums discomfort.
Use Sudofed up nose??

🙄

Decongestants can significantly impact milk supplies. This org is very balanced and evidence based, not just “avoid everything” types. https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/wp-content/dibm/2019-09/Decongestants%20and%20Breastfeeding.pdf

Nasal sprays may help though. @Bunny2021 I have no real advice but sending lots of sympathy and hope you feel better soon! 💐
